Reviewing for Finals.....

I have been reviewing all week with my kids (last week and today). Today in my Physical Science class, one of my freshmen asked me the strangest question....

We were talking about Newton's Third Law of Motion: For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. He raised his hand and asked me; "Miz, so what happens when you fart. Like if you are walking and you fart, do you go faster?"

Did not have a response for that one!

I told him, well, you could walk, while we are timing you, then you could pass gas, and we could stop the time shortly after you do and calculate your velocity. Wanna try?

.....and I cried I laughed so hard.
