My student who said she was going to commit suicide showed up. I was elated! I let her pick her seat and sit wherever she wanted. On the plus side, her classroom behavior has been much better and I am looking forward to working with her this semester.
She was absent for 2 days because she had to serve time in ISS (In School Suspension) which I find is a load of crap. ISS?! We are punishing students who don't come to class with more days not coming to class?! There has got to be a better way!!!!
